My latest book, The Great White Bear is now six weeks from publication by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in the US. Publication date is January 12, 2011. In the United Kingdom, where the book will be called Ice Bear, publication date will be January 6. I have set up a Facebook page for the book; you can "Like" it by clicking on the button on the home page of this website.
Meanwhile, I'm already contemplating my next title - my next couple in fact - and hope to have preliminary proposals to my agent by the end of the year. I am also hoping to begin work soon on another article for the Washington Post Magazine; after a year in which I have been in something of a holding pattern professionally, I'm looking forward to better things in 2011.
I realized after conversations with a few folks when I was in the UK in September that quite a few check in on this site to find out what I'm up to. That being the case, I'll do my best to keep this blog updated more regularly from now on.
