For a guy who gets paid (at least partly) to blog, I sure am pretty bad at maintaining the blog on my own website. But it's all good: I have finished my book manuscript, and the book is now entering production. It will be called The Great White Bear in the United States, and Ice Bear in the United Kingdom.
With that out the way, my workload right now has eased up a little, although I am working on some proposals. I met yesterday with my agent, John Thornton of the Spieler Agency, and we tossed around a couple of ideas I have had for my next tome; I'm working up a few one-page concepts for him to run past Lisa White, my editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and see which, if any, she would be interested in seeing in full proposal form.
There are some magazine and newspaper pitches to make, as well, in addition to a blog proposal on which I'm working. And the boxing side gig continues apace: I'll be appearing in the forthcoming HBO "Countdown to Pacquiao-Clottey" show, and will be attending that fight, at Cowboys Stadium, in March, as well as the Shane Mosley-Floyd Mayweather bout in Las Vegas on May 1.
In other words: As usual, I'm more than a tad concerned about my short- medium- and long-term fiscal futures. But what the hell, it beats working.
